Vibration-Assisted Drilling
Domaine Mobilité
Technologie Robotique autonome
Applications
The self-adaptive technology aims at improving drilling operation, particularly in multi-stacked material (metal / composite).
- Aeronautical
- Automotive
- Wind turbine
Description
Drilling machines are equipped with a vibration system which generates axial oscillations from the spindle rotation. To cope with different constraints, two vibration system technologies have been developed: one with eccentric discs (for automatic drilling unit) the other with a swashplate (for spindle).
Benefits
- Improved remove of the chips
- Improved productivity by decreasing tool breakdown
- Simple and robust technology
- Adaptation: Possibility to modulate oscillation frequency and amplitude
