CHALLENGES
The fight against cancer and inflammatory diseases with high rates of mortality is still a major concern:
- Chronic inflammatory diseases are the most significant cause of death worldwide, with more than 50% of all deaths being attributable to inflammation related diseases including ischemic heart disease, cancer, diabetes, autoimmune and neurodegenerative conditions.
- Cancer accounted for 10 million deaths in 2020, or nearly one in six deaths
INNOVATIVE SOLUTION
A library of more than 80 molecular structures to exploit and convert into new compounds with specific enzymatic activity for therapeutic purpose. This chemical library contains structural motifs of potential interest for the development of novel single or multivalent inhibitors for a variety of pathologies.
Applications
- Cancer
- Inflammation (chronic diseases or acute syndrome)
- Infections
- Auto-immune diseases
- Neurodegenerative diseases
Advantages
- Library of pharmaco-modulable molecules
- IP strategy to build
- Crucial enzymatic activity involved in inflammatory mechanisms
- Several applications
HOW IT WORKS
We have to our disposal a library of molecular structures derived from chemical synthesis. Based on structure-activity studies from the literature and analysis of our results, we have identified structural motifs of potential interest for the development of novel single or multivalent inhibitors for applications in a variety of pathological contexts.
Ideal for developing new therapeutic strategies against single-target enzymatic activities (kinase, glycosidase, protease), some molecules in the chemical library already have also multi-target activities against these different enzymatic activities; this is known as poly-pharmacology. The application field is significant and wide-ranging, as these enzymatic activities are involved in numerous human and animal pathologies such as cancers, acute inflammatory processes, chronic inflammatory diseases, microbial infections, kidney disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and neurodegenerative diseases.
